Whatever the problem with the Livestock RFID technology and the NLIS?

NLIS and Farm management software tools, hardware, advice and training can help solve it.

The National Livestock Identification System, or NLIS as it is known, presents Australian cattle farmers with a significant challenge.

Already competition in the cattle and beef industry is increasing and profit margins are get tighter. As more and more regulation and quality assurance controls such as CattleCare and the NLIS are placed on the sector, it gets more and more difficult to find the the time to comply with the legistlation, and still run the farm profitably.

In most cases, technology is the only answer, but finding the time to find the right technology for the operation is even harder. There is such a wide range of computers, NLIS devices, RFID readers, weighing scales, and farm management software on the market today, that it is almost impossible to adequately research all of them and put together the 'solution' that best suits.

The combinations are many, and often the operator gets stuck with a hodge-podge of expensive gear that either doesn't work very well together, doesn't do the job very well or neither. The worst thing, is that just as often, he/she thinks that's 'the way things are'. That is,technology is hard and "I hate computers!"

How to solve it?

The first problem, is in deciding what NLIS technology and/or software is suitable, how to use it effectively, and what will deliver the best result for the least cost. At Smarter Farming, we know how agricultural technology and farm management software works, what their capabilities are, and with what, and how they communicate with each other, to give you a systems that not only works properly, but does the job you want it to.

The other problem is it's often too hard to use. At Smarter Farming we don't believe it should be. With correct setup and the proper training, we can make it second nature.

Why use Smarter Farming Advice and Training?

It's not hard to drive a modern car, but you don't try to build one yourself. You probably could if you had time, but you don't, because you know it makes simple economic sense to get someone who does it well to do it, while you get on with what you do well, running a farming business.

Similarly, it's really not hard to 'drive' the new farm technologies, but why try to 'build' the systems yourself? Why not get a Smarter Farming advisor to do that, while you get back to the real business of farming.

You WILL save days/weeks of wasted time and money if we help you.
